Inspired by the friendship between Pablo Picasso and Igor Stravinsky, this programme reflects their first collaboration during the creation of the ballet Pulcinella.

The well-known portrait of Stravinsky by Picasso dates from this period; less widely known, however, is that their artistic exchange included a clarinet sketch by Stravinsky as part of a series of miniature works shared between them. Inspired by this sketch, Trio Tempestoso commissioned a new work from Angela E. Slater.
