CONCERT PROGRAMMES

1. THE PRINCESS, THE WAR, A STARDOM PIANIST AND A WINE MERCHANT

19th Century and beyond.

With works by: Georges Bizet, Fanny Hensel, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, Nina Šenk.

Life stories of our protagonists are intertwined by the fact, that they were born and lived in the 19th Century. Maurice Ravel, Fanny Hensel, Georges Bizet and Gabriel Faure were all pianists! The piano – as the humanity itself – at the time has undergone some considerable changes. The 1800’s were not an easy time for women composers. Words of praise from an important historic figure have reached Fanny Hensel in a completely unexpected situation. Saint Säens offered an Invitation to a Concert as a worthy remedy for a broken heart of his friend and Colleague Gabriel Fauré. On the other hand, the family of Georges Bizet’s Fiancée did not see the Composer as someone that could provide her with a stable life, they though a wine merchant from Bordeaux to be a more suited choice…

2. FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Friendship in the spotlight.

With works by: Sebastian Fagerlund, Joseph Haydn, Igor Stravinsky, Angela E. Slater,  Astor Piazzolla.

Be it the eventful friendship of the two well-known 20th Century artists: Igor Stravinsky and Pablo Picasso, the prolific affection between the amateur pianist Rebecca Schroeter and Joseph Haydn, or the pain the Finnish Composer Sebastian Fagerlund experienced at the loss of his friend. The following Program is designed as an Ode to friendship! The pieces played have followed Sanja, Andraz and Urban since the formation of the trio in 2017 across their concerts through Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and France. Since the audiences usually experience the combination of expressive Clarinet, the deep caressing voice of the Cello and the full - but at the same time surprisingly subtle sound of accordion for the first time at one of the trio’s concerts, the program appeared under the name First Impressions.
